Die Jungfrau Zeitung ist als Vorreiter im lokalen (Online)Journalismus bekannt. Herausgeber Urs Gossweiler setzt zu 100% auf lokale Inhalte und hat das jetzt auch konsequent in einer sehr guten Werbekampagne umgesetzt:
Sich so klar lokal zu positionieren würde auch vielen anderen Angeboten gut stehen. Das ist vor allem deutlich sympathischer als die gewohnten Qualitätsjournalismus-Kampagnen.
Besser spät, als nie: Jungfrau als App
Außerdem hat die Jungfrau Zeitung vor kurzem ihre iPhone und iPad App vorgestellt. Etwas später als viele anderen, was Urs Gossweiler auch in einem lesenswerten (PR)Interview offen erklärt:
Wir waren lange Zeit der Meinung, dass Apps nur ein Zwischenschritt sind, dass die Entwicklung wieder zurückführt auf das World Wide Web. Aber es stellte sich heraus, dass Smartphone-Benützer nicht mit dem Webbrowser arbeiten, sondern fast ausschliesslich mit Apps. Dieses erste Zögern ist der Grund dafür, dass wir nun nicht wie bei früheren medialen Entwicklungen zu den Ersten gehören.
Im Vergleich zu nationalen Medien kommt die App tatsächlich etwas spät. Im lokalen Bereich, sind aber bisher noch die allerwenigsten mit Apps auf diesem Niveau ausgestattet. Eine Ausnahme ist LokalNews aus Passau, die ebenfalls eine gute App anbieten.
