EPD-Medien hat mich vor einiger Zeit zum Thema Groupon für Verlage befragt. Meine Meinung sehe ich in dem Artikel ganz gut wiedergegeben (auch wenn ich die Abwanderung des Anzeigenmarktes nicht nur mit Groupon begründen würde).
Kritiker: Couponing ist ein gefährliches Spiel
Der Journalist und E-Commerce-Berater Steffen Greschner hält diese Sichtweise für gefährlich. “Der Anzeigenmarkt wird für die Verlage vielleicht noch fünf bis zehn Jahre funktionieren”, sagt er. Genau wie die Kleinanzeigen für Autos und Immobilien werde mit der Zeit der Anzeigenmarkt ins Netz abwandern. Gerade in den Branchen Gastronomie und Wellness würden dann viele Händler nicht mehr auf die Zeitungen zugehen.
Die Deutsche Verlagsszene tue sich mit Vermarktungschancen im Internet nach wie vor schwer. Dabei böten Verlagshäuser alles, was Groupon sich derzeit mit sehr viel Geld aufbaue, sagt Greschner. “Wer hat in jeder Stadt die besten Kontakte zu Händlern? Seit hundert Jahren die Zeitung.” Um dieses Potenzial entsprechend zu vermarkten, müssten die Verlage in eigene Portale mit ihrem eigenen Personal investieren, anstatt die Webseiten extern entwickeln zu lassen. “Ansonsten bekommt das schnell einen Stiefkindcharakter.”
Gefährlich halte ich die Meinung des im Artikel über mir genannten Herr übrigens wirklich, der da sagt: “Den (gedruckten) regionalen Anzeigenmarkt könnten Gutscheinportale auf lange Sicht nicht ersetzen, glaubt Herzberg. “Sie sind aber eine attraktive Ergänzung.”
